Appetite for the Magnificent
by Tania Willen, David Willen, Jörg Scheller

Appetite for the Magnificent 是一本針對水族館歷史與當代攝影美學的探索，前半部的影像由 Studio Willen 的 Tania Willen 與 David Willen 兩人共同拍攝。全書共收錄23張照片，場景皆取自瑞士動物園與高級私人水族館拍攝，而其中動植物、礦物的水性花園則是由海洋生物學家組成的養殖公司 Aquascapers 所設計。在精準銳利的鏡頭捕捉下，動態的水景如同被按了暫停格般清晰呈現，使我們眼前所見飄浮在現實與虛擬之間，在視覺與心理上創造出一種強烈的未知狀態。

後半部的文章則是由藝術史學家 Jörg Scheller 所撰寫，藉由海水水族館發明者 Philip Henry Goss 的論文內容，從藝術、科學與宗教領域上回顧了水族館的演變。Philip Henry Goss（1810-1888 英國人），同時是插畫家、科學家與虔誠的福音派人士，因撰寫社會動物學概論而激發了對海洋動植物的研究興趣，在1856年時出版了第一本書籍《 The Aquarium: An Unveiling of the Wonders of the Deep Sea 》，其 ”水族館“ 一詞便是從此書而來。

Tania Willen 和 David Willen 是在 Schule für Gestaltung 學院就讀時相識，當時 Tania 學習平面設計、David 學習攝影，兩人一直一來都是合作夥伴，而後在2015年創立了Studio Willen，工作項目概括視覺概念、圖文編輯、商業攝影、品牌顧問，並不定時會有像是 Appetite for the Magnificent 這樣特別的合作出現。
