Rop van Mierlo 2008年畢業於荷蘭安荷芬設計學院（Design Academy Eindhoven），目前生活和工作於荷蘭阿姆斯特丹。擅長運用各種媒材，但主要以繪畫進行創作，「控制」與「失控」的表現是組成他作品最重要的一部分。此書在2011年時獲得荷蘭最佳設計獎，2019年時也因錄像作品〈Trippy Isolator / Dances with Wolves〉獲得紐約 Vimeo 年度最佳獎。
