「餅皮桿不好、餅包不漂亮——做餅的許多步驟與手法，總是只能意會不能言傳。」

這是一本從麵粉與餅印間生長的圖像記憶之書。

作者蟾蜍先生自小在傳統餅店裡長大，是個動不動就挨罵的「小開」。書中每一幅圖像，都來自飄逸餅香中度過的日常與那些藏在糕餅裡、代代相傳卻鮮少被說明的符號與心意。

在台灣，傳統糕餅多源於祭祀祈福，一塊餅，往往承載著分享平安與祝福的心意。餅印上刻著祝福新人兒孫成才的「狀元遊街」，大餅上蓋著象徵圓滿的「雙囍」，諧音吉祥的蝙蝠紋樣悄悄藏在餅面一角；除此之外，還有糕餅業祖師爺孔明公的平安符，以及店裡日日供奉的土地公——這些構成了餅店日常的信仰風景，也是本書圖像的來源。

全書以 risograph 雙色印刷，手工裝訂而成，封面經凹印壓制。隨書附贈金屬環，可穿過封面孔洞，將作品當作海報懸掛展示。
