Buy the book and take it home. Leave it at your house. Return to the store and find a copy of the same book. With your receipt, return that copy for a refund.  (買一本書並將它帶回家,將書留在家中後帶著收據回到書店,再從架上拿著相同的書籍到櫃台要求退貨)”


How to shoplift books 是一本可讀性很高的教材,但同時也是一個厚著臉皮想讓大家注意到的存在、一段深入對話的起頭、一件通過不擇手段來取得的事。此書將“展售”這件事變成是一場徘徊在理性與道德邊緣的冒險,儘管書名清楚明瞭地寫著“竊書指南”,卻也同時在旁標示了售價,以充滿趣味和自相矛盾的方式揭示了書店在銷售機制上的某些結構性要素,以及我們與商品間的交易關係。所有的廣告都告訴我們要購買東西,但卻很少會接收到鼓勵我們偷竊的訊息,尤其是當其內容不具備書籍應該要傳遞的訊息。

此波再版首先以英文、西班牙文、法文、德文與義大利文版本發行,接下還會陸續發佈至少十種語言,成為人手一本的全球讀物。
