《Being Together: A Manual For Living》收錄了由藝術家 Grace Ndiritu 設計的九個專題實驗，包含了共食，共居，共同參與感受、思考，共同寫作和設計等等，並邀請來自各領域的工作者、社會大眾和學生參與實驗。

在泰、藏佛教寺院與紐西蘭永續農業社區的觀察與經歷，塑造了 Grace Ndiritu 對「參與式學習」（embodied learning）的理解和重視；他亦曾走訪阿根廷樹上住民、美國火人祭、蘇格蘭奎師那瑜珈道場等地，深刻地研究鄉村、遊牧與靈性社群。Ndiritu 根據他的體驗和研究，設計出了一系列的激進教育實驗，對今日的藝術教育及社會議題提出質疑，並以參與實驗者共著的《Being Together: A Manual For Living》回應。

以〈Eating Together〉為例，由2018年參與 Ndiritu 工作坊的景觀建築師 Roberto dell’Prco所撰，記述活動「A Meal For My Ancestors: Healing The Museum」的舉辦背景、過程和個人反思。

2018年，比利時處於恐怖攻擊恢復期，又面臨敘利亞難民潮湧入之際，Ndiritu 邀請難民、移工和包含歐盟的各政治機構工作人員，一同參與由他設計，聚焦於食物、薩滿儀式及冥想的工作坊。活動以打擊樂引導眾人進入冥想狀態、經過個人的精神遊歷和群體分享，結束於所有人一起共煮備餐的餐會；這場工作坊也包含了一場以療癒和歐洲醫療體系發展為主題的公開對談，由薩滿、醫生、學者和政治人物共同參與。

靈性、藝術和社會有什麼關聯？對 Grace Ndiritu 而言，社會的政治經濟變遷，導致城市、美術館、當代藝術和人之間的關係逐漸遠離，但透過療癒過程重視體驗和參與的特性，場所成為分享的空間，其與人的關聯得到了被修復的機會；大眾亦能夠在療癒的體驗中，以更切身的眼光，看待我們所處的政經環境。
