オランダのコンセプチュアルアーティスト、フルア・ファン・ドーデワード（Fleur van Dodewaard）のドローイングをまとめたアートブック『BLACK GRASS / LOVE LETTERS』を刊行します。
　　
ファン・ドーデワードはこれまでに、ドローイング、彫刻、写真、陶芸、絵画など、多様なメディアを横断しながら制作を行ってきました。《BLACK GRASS / LOVE LETTERS》は、ファン・ドーデワードがVAGUE ARLESでのレジデンス中に取り組みはじめた最新作。彼女は1年間毎日、鉛筆とインクによるシンプルで意図的な線を描き続けました。レジデンスでは南仏・プロヴァンスの風景とフィンセント・ファン・ゴッホ（1853–1890）の残像を感じながら、ゴッホが弟のテオに書いた手紙や、1888–1889年にアルルで描かれた風景画、ドローイングを丁寧にリサーチしました。そこに繰り返し現れる線やリズムは、ファン・ドーデワード自身の制作とも響き合い、また日本の芸術、とりわけ篠田桃紅（1913–2021）による抽象的な墨の表現との継続的な対話も、彼女の独自の造形言語をかたちづくっています。瞑想的かつ実験的なプロセスを経て、紙の上に描かれたドローイングの数々は、結果的に言語を超えたいくつもの「ラブレター」となりました。
　
付録される中綴じの冊子には、作家自身によって綴られたテキストと、クレラー・ミュラー美術館ベノ・テンペルによる論考、そしてVAGUE KOBEの展示風景も収録。オランダ在住のデザイナー、若林亜希子の手により優雅なデザインで纏めあげられた一冊です
