Description

Mimesis: The Non-Standard Poetry Book

(Not) Jammed is an interactive installation consisting of a dot-matrix printer, Scott, that records speech and prints it on the spot. Mimesis originates from a poetry night held on 30 June 2023 at Limestone Books, hosted by artist and poet LDH. On this evening, seven poets read their works, while Scott—operated by the DuctTape Collective—acted as the eighth poet, interpreting what was being recited. The book also includes a foreword by Florian Cramer, an essay by theo ploeg, and the DuctTape Collective’s Navigating Authorship Flux in the Making of Mimesis, which explores the notion of authorship in the realm of hybrid human–machine creation.

Author: DuctTape Collective, Florian Cramer, theo ploeg, LDH, María Voth Velasco, Jody Aikman, Jean-Shelia Messi, Britt van Baaren, Malu Ebenau, Scott the Dot-Matrix Printer, Polina Slavova, Nai-Syuan Ye, Merle Findhammer, Doğa Gönüllü, Pascal Walters, Richard Voetelink, and Chen Jhen
