The elegant simplicity of one of the masters of abstract art, brought to life in this beautiful limited edition catalogue

Ellsworth Kelly (1923-2015) is widely considered one of the 20th Century’s foremost modernist painters and sculptors. His plant drawings are an intriguing introduction to the minimalism of his more abstract work. Working with Galerie Maeght and master printer Marcel Durassier in Paris, Kelly published his first Suite of Plant Lithographs from 1965 to 1966. The lithographs were drawn by the artist from earlier pencil studies as well as from memory. This handsomely designed (by Binocular, New York) catalogue features the entire suite of 28 images and was printed by Die Keure, Bruges. With an introductory essay by Carter E. Foster and a selected bibliography, this volume is sure to please collectors of Ellsworth Kelly’s work as well as anyone interested in the simple beauty of the natural world.

This first edition softbound catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition Ellsworth Kelly: Plant Lithographs, presented at Berkshire Botanical Garden in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in 2018.
