作家自身のルーツである長崎県佐世保の切なさを帯びた写真が強く印象に残る。日本語、英語、中国語3ヵ国語表記は、言語の伝達だけでなく効果的なグラフィックデザイン要素として本書に盛り込まれている。本書は、2020年に発表された同タイトルの新装版。Codex装丁により見開き写真がより見やすくなった。
